what? Derp isn’t another word for the mentally challenged. It’s just anything or anyone making an unflattering face.

You can’t tell me you honestly think the origin of what ‘derp’ (and hurr durr) implies isn’t something or someone being “retarded.”

I mean really.

I understand feeling the meaning of word has warped to mean something ‘silly,’ like, “you are such a derp,” but there’s a big difference between that and using it to describe someone who is mentally handicapped played to a comical degree.

The unflattering photos you’re talking about are usually ‘unflattering’ because they are reminiscent of the stereotypical view of a mentally handicapped person, by the way, so your argument is invalid.
